Ok, I have a question!

What happens when my computer updates itself (usual windows updates) at the logout screen (when it says "updating, don't turn off the computer) but computer shutdowns..

I have some problems with high temps and I am sure the computer shut down before getting updated completely.

Are the files somehow corrupted now? Computer works fine but I want to make sure I don't have problems in the long run.

 

When Windows Update runs, it sometimes needs to update files that were in use whilst you were logged in to the computer. It therefore updates these once you have told the computer to shut down. Once it has finished, it shuts itself down like it normally does.

You might also notice it update some files during startup, and it might reboot itself whilst updating files. This is all perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

The system will inform you if there was a problem during updating as some of the updates will be registered as "failed".

 

You don't understand, the Windows Update icon that appears where the time is didn't go off after I installed the three KB files. And also it is the same KB files that keep on downloading, and downloading, and downloading and the icon won't go away. Can I get this fixed.

 

You don't understand, it is the same files that get downloaded and installed, KB2737019
KB2729450, and KB2729449. I went and checked my update files and they are on there four or five times, and the yellow icon is still on ready to download and install again. I understand how updates work. This is the first time this has happened to me.

 

I guess I'll have to go somewhere else to get help. Thanks anyway.
