Has any body having conflicting issues with this driver below and the newer update from the nvidia site.

This is from microsoft.Do not know what version it is.
nVidia - Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Seems when this is installed it will cause system to be slower then it should.

I personally don't use Microsoft's updates for nvdia drivers. I'd rather just go to nvidia for the update. I'm sure they are the same. But, I'd go for the main source instead.

I'm like theefool and would go for NVidia drivers direct and not via Microsoft at all, if you have installed them then uninstall and seek NVidia drivers direct and install.

But one caveat is that updating any driver is inherent in risk as you have no idea if its better or worse to performance of your PC, you'd hope it was better but never know.

I normally don't download these kinda updates from microsft. In my last windows install it messed up my system.

I normally get them from Nvidia.

Maybe worth you changing the Window update setting to "Download but let me choose whether to install...." option.

Generally even updates from MSFT via Windows updates don't impact on a system much, they can but more so of the OS is not legit, but it can happen with legit OS versions if the tested update is not a good one.

I tend to update GFX drivers via NVidia for my card and not MSFT, some other drivers I don't mind as in network or sound, but mostly I really don't update drivers unless needed.

I'm particular with updates myself. I read each and every item that is supposed to fix my issues. Well, I read the release notes.
