Windows Update

    How do I know there is a Win update waiting for me?? My browser slows down. Task manager stops responding. Deleting temp files stops responding. Trying to open any app is slug slow.

    So clicking on restart ( without a notice of an update ) takes me to the Update~!

    The thing is, once the update installs, everything goes back to normal. This has happened with every update for God only knows how long.

    My reply was probably misplaced...
    I have been with Windows since dos. Its never been the best OS but it works.
    and respect to those who help it do so.

    Well, shortly after making my last post, my browser completely froze again. It needed another update. This one took over 2 hours. Not a happy camper when Microsoft freezes me out so I am forced to run the update.

    I appreciate when I go to shutdown and I am prompted to "update and shutdown" or "shutdown". I select "shutdown" and still see the please wait..... like I had a choice.
