Windows Update ???

Running Win. 98 SE, IE 5.5 SP2, wondering if anyone with same set up had installed new Critical update #840315 (7/13/04), if so, any problems to look out for ???

 

Hey Joe Installed the new updates last weekend on my daughter's machine (HP, Win98SE with, get this, only 95 megs of ram ) It installed fine with no problems.

 

I've installed this patch with no problems in my Windows 98 machine. But Joe, why are you still at Internet Explorer 5.5?

 

Hey Guys, Thanks for the info, as for why I still run IE 5.5, I have installed IE 6 twice, and it just won't run worth a damn on my machine, actually 5.5 runs quite nice and never any problems - I accept this as a computer thing and go on

 

My dad has been having the same problem. He downloads updates for his Win XP Pro and then he ends up having to reformat his hd because it screws up the comp. Then again, he probably is missing something-he isn't very computer smart
I must get it from my mom, somehow.

 

No Probs Joe As for 5.5 vs. 6. MSEX (wow, that term popped out from the bad ole days on the wild and wooly IRC channels ) thing, always remember the first motto of the geek: "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" (unless of course you want to tweak it )
