Windows Updates doesn't.

Working on an older P3 powered IBM machine running XP Home. Only had SP2 installed and on dial-up connection.
Went to Windows Update last night and SP3 was the only download that I could get. Would not even show any others until I downloaded it.
Downloaded and installed with no problems(or so I thought).
Tried to go there tonight, but get error code 0x8024402C. Followed all MS recommendations to resolve, but no-go.
Avira shows clean,so does MBAM and SAS.
Am open to suggestions.

i found this sit searching the web in regards to this error it list the same solutions as those on the Microsoft site but if you scroll down the bottom there is four more suggested solutions that may help you " http://www.updatexp.com/support-files/0x8024402c.pdf " it is in pdf format.good luck.

 

Has already been resolved.
Over agressive firewall setting. Turned firewall off and updates started showing.
5 1/2 hours to download all needed security updates ( has been a whils since machine was online ).
Everything is good now.
