I just noticed that on XP there is only 1 but for my win2k box which I updated today before these patches, there was 3.. next time I will nix the patch count in my description..

all i see is a Cumulative Update for IE 6 SP1... is this the update you are referring to, Kodo?

 

Last update I picked up was on: 04 October 2003

and is entitled: October 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB828750)

There were no further updates.

However, just done a Windows Update scan and it stops at 100% with Windows item greyed out but no updates shown in the three categories.

 

I have been getting the same thing for about a week. After the scan, I get a message saying Windows update cannot load requested page. ( or something like that.)



Edit. I tried windows update again, and got the same error. then I looked at my system date. It had reverted to 2001 for some strange reason. I fixed it, and update is working now.

 

I get the security bulletins. Two came in that link to here:

So there are three critical patches available. but when I went to WU it said I only needed the cumulative patch for IE.

Question--is workstation service only for PC's on an intranet?

Not long after installing the patch I lost contact with all servers but was still connected (on dialup). Lasted about 30 minutes, but don't know if it's related.

 

Still gives me the same problem and my system date is correct. I've sent a request to MS support and they have reply with 4 possible solutions, which I will try later. I already know one of these won't work.
