windows updates

im running windows xp SP2 and i always get there are update avaiable for your system and i click it and it wont install any help

any info on which update would help it will have a kb number

 

well actually the icon isint there now so i went to the microsoft site and went to updates and its only giving me SP3 now so im gonna try and install it
also when the icon does appear theres is usually like 10 or something and SP3 is always one of them i will try and install sp3 now and post if it suscessful or not

you might want to delete everything in windows software distributions downloads folder in case the file in there are corrupt if you try to download sp3 from Microsoft it will recognize what is already in that folder you can download sp3 from here " http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Windows_XP_Service_Pack_3_d4323.html " this is the iso you can burn it to cd and have it when ever you need it

 

it dident install properly and i will delete thoes files and download that SP3

i'll post back when its all finished

where exactally is that folder?

click on my computer then click local c drive open up the windows folder scroll through and find the software distributions folder open look for the downloads folder open it and delete everything in it also if you have ccleaner scan for issues to make sur all references to what was in there is gone good luck

 

Do I really need SP3? Some people have told me that it's a waste of time. Anyone else heard of this?
