Windows updates

My Windows updates keeps shutting it self off I have not installed
or uninstalled any programs in month,s

Vista home basic 32-bit
Toshiba A135 satellite 2GB or ram
intel T2080 @ 1,73 GHz 1,73 GHz


Just can,t figure out why it shut,s off

 

Any error messages / error codes in Event Viewer?

 

Also, can you try to install just one single update from the list?

 

I,m not getting any error massages
When I first turn on my computer A red shield in the task bar
pops up and a message said,s Windows updates are turned off
So I turn them back on every time I restart my computer

I ran a malware and antivirus scan no problems there
What else can I try?

I,m able to manual install updates which I,ve been doing lately
This problem has me stumped

not the update shutting off problem

I,ve been having this problem for about 3 weeks now
I run Iobit Malware twice every week never had a malware problem
every

I checked out the Microsoft site and seem a lot of people with Vista or xp sp3
have the same problem The tech person there could not help

For now i,ll manually check for updates 2 or 3 times a week

 

It fixed;
Security settings are missing or have been changed
Check for missing or corrupt files
Service registration is missing or corrupt

Not fixed;
Problems installing recent updates

I tried the reset update components same problem
i,m downloading the System readiness update tool now
I,ll get back to you after I run that tool

 

System Readiness tool worked great
Updates stay on now

When I shut down my computer last night
I had 71 updates

glad to have updates working properly

 

They all installed perfectly all 71 I counted them just to make sure
