windows updates

    I have xp pro sp1. It seems like lately there is an automatic update everyday. is it safe to download all of them? most the time it is somthing about security are they really helping anything or keeping me secure? thanks

    I think Sasser and msblast worms are testament to the importance of Windows Updates.

    Automatic Updates goes for the critical ones, which are the ones that truly matter.

    Recently, I am having a lot of customers being hit by sdbot variants that are mimicking sasser in that they crash lsass.exe.

    Don't ask me which variant of sdbot, there are over 700.
