Windows Updtate error 0x80248011

    I've been getting this error (0x80248011) when trying to update windows. Running Windows XP SP3

    I've seen some similar threads but after trying the different fixes, none of them worked.

    I deleted cookies and temporry internet files, then I tried running the fix mentioned at the bottom of this page recommended by somebody in another thread: http://www.updatexp.com/0x80248011.html

    That didn't work. So I system restored and tried the fix from microsoft listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883821

    When I tried that the result was
    Any help on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not sure about those instructions. Why? Look at this
    I don't see any quotes; do you?

    That's probably why you are receiving the DataStore error - something is wrong with step 4 on the MS site.

    Thanks for the tips, I went to Microsoft tech support and I guess if you are looking for help with SP3 they will help for free and took care of it.

    Hi

    Yes after a Service Pack launch support is free for a number on months, if you can remember the fix they gave you, could you share it with the group and thats what forums are about sharing info if you fixed this problem with a it may help others with same issue.
