Windows Vista 64 failing to load

Hi guys, I was using my computer last night and everything was fine. I watched a film then turned it off and went to bed. This afternoon I turned it on again and for some reason it wont load...... It comes up with an error something along the lines of.

Could not find boot device. Please insert the media device and restart.

I inserted the windows O/S disk I have to try and do a full system restore and that loads just fine. I enter my CD key and when it comes to the part where I have to chose either upgrade or install clean copy. I select clean copy and it says "Failed to find suitable device" Basically, I think my computer doesnt recognize the hard drive......

When I go into the BIOS and select boot sequence. I says

1. CD-DRIVE
2. Floppy Drive

and thats it, it doesnt list the hard drive..... I dont want to go and but another hard drive and then thats not the problem although i'm pretty sure that is the problem.

Any advice or help would be awesome.

I have writted down the full error I get when I try to turn on my computer.

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key to continue"

Any one know what this means?

 

I fixed it now. Basically it was the hard drive. It was only about 2 years old, I bought it when I built the computer so I replaced it with an old hard drive that I had laying around.

Say hello to the *new* 80GB seagate LOL downgraded from my LG 750GB

But anywho im just glad its back up and running.
