Have Dell and came with Windows Vista. Have original cd from Dell to reinstall. Currently have windows 7 got from friend installed and hasn't ever worked properly. Have no access to original OS CD for Windows 7. So I want to install Windows Vista...Problem is it tells me there is not enough temp file space. I have gone to Start, %temp, and shift deleted all that it allows. I have 13 files still on that will not allow me to delete...Says I need to have trusted installer permission???? Have disk cleaner also and ran and deleted those and still not enough space. How do I delete the JScript JScript Files????

    Thanks
    :)

Hi my fellow , welcome to MG's :major

Windows 7 cd is working in another computer well ? You have to delete these files with this utility

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Unlocker_d4660.html

    you can read this :wave

thxs for the quick response...sadly none of this worked....I installed the unlocker and clicked on temp files. I ran and then it didn't seem to work. So I ran again and it asked what I wanted to do so I choose delete action. Ran %temp again and the files still there...when I attempt to delete it states " you require permission from TrustInstaller to make change to this file" I also followed instructions on link of ehow and still didn't work. So....any other suggestions? Is there a FREE program I can download and run that will wipe out my hard drive completely with everything being erased??? Thanks again so much

If this is a Dell restore/recovery CD, you put the CD in the drive with the computer off. Use the pin hole and a paper clip to open the CD tray so you can put in the CD.
Tun on the computer and press the key to enter setup. You will see it on the screen before windows loads. If you don't hit it quick enough, windows will load. So if you miss it, once windows loads, select restart and keep pressing the key until you are in the BIOS.
Once in the BIOS, look for the boot options and move boot from CD to the top of the list. Normally you hit F10 to exit the BIOS and save the changes you made.
The computer will then boot from the restore/recovery CD. It will format the hs and install Vista.
