Windows Vista SP1 problems........suprised?

    So, I just installed the SP1 upgrade offered by Microsoft for thier quality Vista OS. Not only did this upgrade erase my audio software, but it also disabled my ability to set my monitor to 1680X1050 res, which is the factory recommended setting. (Note: This setting was in use before SP1 was installed). I figured out the audio problem, but I cant seem to figure out how to get my native res back! The closest offered res is 1600X1200, 16bit color (which sucks). My monitor wont allow me to set it to MAX, since that setting is for 24" and higher monitors. Anyone else have this problem? My monitor is a Dell 22" LCD; Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

    hum thats funny, windows updates hasn't shown a sp1 update being released yet, as far as i know its still beta, and not a public release.

    Hi

    Vista SP1 does have some issues with some non compliant drivers and can and did in your case install some default ones, so check your PC makers site for graphics drivers if the graphics is onboard ( as in OEM HP, DELL, SONY etc PCs ) or get latest driver from Ati or Nvidia if you have a AGP or PCI-E add-on card card.
