Windows Vista to Windows XP help

I bought a HP Pavillion with Vista and did a clean install of XP. Now I have problems in Device Manager with PCI devices. I can't get on the internet or network. What should I do?

 

Search the manufactor's site to see if your lucky enough to have back made drivers, which is unlikely sense your components were designed for vista.

 

HP was no help; neither was Microsoft. From Device Manager, how do I tell what the PCI devices really are so I know what drivers to look for? There is a long name which means nothing to me:
PCI\VEN_14F1&DEV_2F20&SUBSYS_200C14F1&REV_00\4&72ACDAA&0&5020

When I put that in Google, nothing comes up

 

hp be would the ones with drivers, and if they dont have em, good luck but your probably not gonna find them. Try some of the free apps on this site for system identication, might help.

I believe the device is a conexant modem. Thought it must be a Network Interface Card but DEV_2F20 belongs to conexant.
If you have a backup of the Vista system you might be able to restore it to a folder and pull the driver out that way. But I am nearly Vista illiterate, but am working my way through GNU/Linux because of it.

I guess XP compatible will be here soon. Ignorant of any hardware mfg to not look at the marketplace and know how satisfy the consumer. I bet the driver is there, just a matter of finding it, Good Luck.

 

i have the same problem, i have hp pavilion a6540d pc, when i turn it xp no driver in its lan, soun and display.

 

help i bought a laptop with vista installed would rather have xp wont let me play pogo games

What is the model number of your computer?

What is the make/model of your modem or router?

Are you trying to connect wireless or wired?
