If anyone is interested, here is my experience with Windows Vista so far.

I just built a computer based with an Asus P5B motherboard, an Intel Duo Core E6660 processor, 2 megs of Kingston 1066 RAM, a Radeon Sapphire X1600 Pro 512 MB video card, etc. and I thought that I would be OK with Vista. So I installed the HOME Premium version only to find that I am having nothing but problems with it. The first problem that arose was with the onboard sound which is the ProMAX sound system. No matter what drivers I installed, the sound would not work properly. To get around this I installed a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. It works better, but not the best yet. Programs like Winamp work fine, but the programs that I seem to be having the most problems with are Microsoft programs themselves. Windows Media Player seems to be the worse. I like Microsoft Train Simulator, but after installing it, Vista didn't like it to the point of crashes, no matter what mode I tried to run it in and I had to remove it.

My question is, why can't Microsoft get anything right when they bring out a new product? They should know their own programs and have them work with the new system. After all, this was a clean install and no upgrade. I do not recommend Windows Vista with what I am experiencing at this time for anyone. I am going to remove Vista off my computer and install Windows XP as I have had no problems with XP on my older machines.
