windows will NOT load

computer is an acer aspire 5100 amdx2. its running windows vista premium. i decided to download the windows update "sp1" and install it on my computer. after an hour of waiting for the packet to install itself my computer restarted for the final time and i recieved a error screen saying " windows could not load". the automatic repair tool activated and scanned for errors and said there are no errors found. after clicking the details tab on the repair details screen it said at the bottom a patch is preventing windows from loading. i got on a buddies computer and talked to a tech from the windows website and they walked me through several procedures on how to possible fix it. ive tried safe mode but while its going through the drivers it will stop on the windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys and shut down my computer. ive gone into bios and reset the drivers from there. the system restore will not work because the previous restore points i had were errased and the only option is "windows sp1." ive tried that too and it is basically the same boat im in now. the reason im so upset over this is because im on month 14 of a 15 month deployment to iraq and have ALOT of pictures and videos from this deployment and of my wife and kids at home that are irreplaceble. i do not have my vista cd with me its at home. is there ANY hope??? thank you for any help

 

Find another computer,remove HDD from your computer,and put it like slave in another one.Now boot,and save all pictures and videos from your HDD to the other one. I hope that you can make it.

 

As you're going to be home soon - I'd say - wait it out, till you get back unless you have the know how or help from people in this field of work. I cannot, even start to imagine your distress, of not having access to Pics etc, of the near and dear. Get home soon &safe.....
