    Firstly Bob, try and put some punctuation into your posts as it makes it much clearer to the reader what you saying or trying to say.

    From what I can glean from your post you may have a RAM problem. How much RAM do you have? And how many sticks does it come in?

    I have 2 Sticks 512 ram i have plenty dont worry. You gave me an idea i made a boot disk to check the ram and it turned up a few problems so i ran a repair disk from college and it just isolated the damaged sectors and had to rewrite the boot sector its ok it runs now. And thanks for the correction on my punctuation my college lecturer keeps killin me over thanks for the help ;
    oops thats programming there sorry ;)

    When booting the PC, start pressing the F8 key over and over until you get a menu with numerous start up options. Choose the 'Disable Automatic Restart....' option and reboot the PC. This will allow you to see the blue screen error and get an exact error number. Post the info provided by the blue screen and I (and others) will try to help you out. You can also research the error number (usually something like 0X0000008E) at the Microsoft web site in their knowledge base.... Download and run the Windows Memory Diagnostic (available here from 'The Geeks'). This program will create a boot floppy (or CD I think) and will check the RAM's integrity. So; post any and all info provided by the blue screen, and in the mean time, run the RAM diagnostic and let us know what happens ;)

    Glad to hear that it's OK now. And don't forget those full-stops and commas. :) :)
