windows xp burning

the cd burning utility that comes with windows xp isn't recognizing disks, the wierd thing is that i also have nero installed and it seems to work fine.

its giving the error: Cannot complete the CD writing wizard.
there was an error in the writing process, the disk you have attempted to write may no longer be usable.

i have found a link that may explain, but i don't really understand it.

any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
