Windows XP converting from French to English...

I just recently bought a copy of Windows XP pro corporate with SP2.. I got home started up the pc and started the install only to find that the whole disc was in french... is there anyway to change from french to english without having to return the disc (because i don't live in france and thats where i bought the discs)... i have tried changing the installation language from french to english but because the disc is originally in french it still installs the base language as french.. any ideas?

 

Unfortunately it's impossible to change Windows language as I know. You can try change language partly by going to Start - Settings - Control pannel - Regional and Language options.
Try also to go to Microsoft support

Is everything in french including dialog boxes? If you got a MUI version you can change the language via the muisetup.exe command from "Run".

If its not a MUI version and simply a French version I don't think you'll be able to do anything with it.

 

yes EVERYTHING is in french. you know when it says press any key to boot from the cd rom? well it says that in french as well... the setup and all the info about xp pro and its better features than windows 2000 etc is all in french. even the regional country names and all are in french. absolutely everything is in french...

I guess i will just have to stick with my xp home ed with sp2... oh well. thanks

yea, will try to do that but i doubt it will work as it says i should just purchase the english version (which i thought i had done) oh well...
