I have a problem with system restarts when I try to insert a sound files (wav or mid) from the clip art gallery into Word. Just clicking on the preview icon brings about the crash.

I don't seem to have the problem in other programs in the Office suite, just with Word. The sound files are intact, and preview perfectly in other programs, like Media Player and Winamp.

I have not had this occur in any other programs. A simple uninstall / reinstall of Word doesn't solve the problem.

    I am using Office XP.

    My specs are:

    Intel grg845 mobo
    Pentium 4 2ghz
    512 mb ddr ram
    Geforce 2 videocard
    Live soundcard

My "The system has recovered from a serious error." message details are:

    BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : 8051D9CF BCP3 : B313DC34
    BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 1_0 Product : 768_1

It would seem to be a driver issue, but as I said the midi / wav files playback elsewhere perfectly.

    Any ideas?
