I have a dual processor, RAID setup that I just finished building. I have configured for RAID 0 and the BIOS sees the drives and the RAID configuration. I have a DVD/CD drive attached via EIDE cable. I can boot from the DVD/CD drive without any problems. I have also loaded the drivers from the disk.

However Windows XP stops the installation because it "did not find any hard disk drives installed on my computer". HELP!!!

    Thanks in advance ...

    You say you loaded drivers?
Sata/Raid drivers need to be loaded onto floppy disk, at the beginning of Windows set up, your prompted to press F6 for third party drivers,( you only have a couple of seconds to press F6 if you miss it you need to run set up again) the set up continues latter your prompted to insert floppy with the unzipped drivers on it.

I followed the process you indicated and still received the same error message. The drives are low-level formatted. Could that be the problem? If so, how do I format them?

    Hi,

I just had that problem, when I hit f6 (and yes I tried several times thinking I missed) windows would just start loading drivers or something then when a can't find hard disk error came up it gave me a option or something (can't remember just how it went) and there was 4 drivers listed. I tried the first 2 and nothing then on the third it worked, but the thing was I installed a intel sata driver and when I should have installed a via. I wish I understood why it worked

I hope this helps I know it is not clear, sorry I don't remember exactly how it went. Dam I knew I should have wrote it down

My first thought is do you have the correct raid/sata drivers?
When you ran set up were your drivers accepted, any errors?
Are these SATA hdd's or IDE?

I usually format/partition my hdd before I try to load windows, I use manufactures utility's, Maxtor's is "Maxblast", Western Digital is "Data Lifeguard Tools" or ?

What model PC & what brand & type HDD's are ya working with?

My hard drives are Seagate Cheetahs -- 73GB, 15000 RPM. I have 2 in a RAID 0 configuration. My Tyan motherboard is a dual processor with an Adaptec 7902 SCSI adapter. I also have the Adaptec RAID 2010S board to control the RAID setup. The drives have been low level formatted by the manufacturer. There is no utility from Seagate for formatting a drive.

I agree it must be a driver. I am at a loss on what I can do to fix it ... Any more suggestions?
