windows xp doesnt restart after SAS

my pc was infected with a trojan 2 days back from an infected usb..i started the process of malware remover..i downloaded combofix,Super anti spyware,MGtools,etc i started scanning with SAS..everything was fine it notifed 6 infected files..5 were trojans..and 1 disable folder ...somthing like that..after complete scanning it asked me to reboot i did..and now after windows xp black screen runs for 10 seconds and then a flash of blue screen then it reboot..i tried to reboot with safe mode but same happens....is there anything i can do to recover my windows?

Hi and welcome to Major Geeks, aitchisonian!

Download OTLPENet.exe to your desktop
Ensure that you have a blank CD in the drive
You will also need a flash drive for this.
Double click OTLPENet.exe and this will then open imgburn to burn the file to CD

Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
Please be patient while this loads.


Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
Select the Windows folder of the infected drive if it asks for a location
When asked "Do you wish to load the remote registry", select Yes
When asked "Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning", select Yes
Ensure the box "Automatically Load All Remaining Users" is checked and press OK
OTL should now start.
Change Drivers and Services to "All".
Drag and drop the scan.txt I've attached into the http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/66/otlcustomfix.png text-field.
Press the http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2405/runscanotl.png button to start the scan.
When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
Copy this file to your USB drive if you do not have internet connection on this system.
Right click the file and select send to : select the USB drive.
Confirm that it has copied to the USB drive by selecting it
You can backup any files that you wish from this OS

hi,
first of all sorry for my late reply...sir i burned the cd.....put it in my infected pc..changed the boot settings...booted from cd....it loaded the files in about 5 minutes..everything was ok till this point...but after loading completed my system restarted....i thought it is a part of process but it goes on restarting....just a blank screen with a flashing cursor on the top left side..it waits for 2 seconds and then restarts

Hi,

How many times did you try booting from the CD?

The PC rebooted on its own while OTLPE was being loaded? - If so, you may have a hardware problem too.

Do you have your Windows XP CD?

 

previously i tried only once..but now i booted again..it completed loading then it displayed the error msg: file nvgts6.sy_ is corrupted...press any key to restart

 

It's starting to more like a hardware problem at this point. Without any logs I am unable to address your malware issues.

nvgts6.sy_ -- Something regarding a NVIDIA Graphics Card driver. GTS series.

Please seek additional help in our Hardware or Software forum first.
