Windows XP Encryption

I have a serious problem...

I encrypted some files in Win XP Pro since I have another user on my system. The files were all on a second hard drive.

Well, the other user installed a video card that he had problems with in another computer. The video card screwed my system up where it would not even load into windows. I ended up having the format the first hard drive and reinstall windows.

After several attempts, I was able to load Windows but lost all my settings, links, etc. I looked further and found that I cannot access those files I encrypted. I have tried decrypting them through Windows but I am not the "same" user that encrypted them now. I cant even delete them!

Anybody have an idea before I lose three years of work?

Have you tried disabling encryption? Heh, I've not experienced this problem myself, that's the best I can think of at the moment.

 

I did. I think the problem is that I am not the "same" user that encrypted the files after I formatted and reinstalled Win XP.
