windows xp file access help!!!!

    I just recently bought a new computer and did a fresh install of xp on the disk. I slaved my old hard drive to pull my docs off of it, but when I try to access the docs and setting\mine folder it returns : not accessible, access denied... any ideas? i need these docs badly! :-o
