    ok well heres the story

    IBM Thinkpad R31
    Windows XP Professional
    1.06GHz processor
    6xxMB somthing ram
    NBHD 60G|TOSH 5K 8M ATA6 MK6034GAX - OEM ( <---just installed that not too long ago)

well i did just install a new HDD and i noticed that the drive was getting very hot, actually it was just on the line of max operating temp, but its still under warranty so i didnt think much of it.

but to day when i try to boot it up the thing just freezes on the welcome screen or after i type in my user name and pass sense i use the classic login. yea i thought i killed the drive too at first but the thing is it will still boot in to safe mode and run fine so i ran avg anti-virus and avg-anti spyware (both free versions) and they found nothing.

i looked in my startup and it just the basic drivers in there. so im almost sure it is some kind of malware, but i maybe (and usually am) wrong.

    whats the next step?
