Computer won’t turn on says power save need some Info-Please Read??

I worked on this ladies computer 10/7/04 and 10/8/04 and this is starting like the same problem. The problem then was her computer would not come on the monitor would have a small box that said power saving mode and would disappear and the computer would not come on, you could hear the computer trying to start and then powering down and then trying to start and then powering down.

At first I thought it was the power supply but I changed it and that was not it. I finally opened it up and disconnected the CD-ROM and the Floppy drive and then it started. I then hooked up the floppy drive and it started and then I hooked the CD-ROM back up and the computer started up. It was like that reset it or something. Anyway

Then I started working on it and
CWshredder found one problem (did not write that one down)
    Adware SE- 422 problems
    Spybot S&D- 258 problems
    No Host files
    She had no antivirus program
Ran the adware vx2 and it was present and deleted it
    I ran defrag
    Ran ck disk
Deleted her temp files, cookies, history
Her HJT Log was a mess Deleted 25 items from it
I put AVG antivirus on for her
    ANYWAY
You can see that her computer was a mess
I did all this with the help of your forum; I could never have done all that by myself.

Everything was going fine, I started checking some peoples computers on a monthly basis just to make sure they were running the adware, spybot, spyblaster and deleting the temp files, cookies, and history. Everything was going good until today.

She called me on the 13th and said there was a message popping up saying there was a Trojan on her system. I asked her what the message said and she did not remember exactly, I told her if it popped up again to write down exactly what it said, well it popped up again she did not get it written down but she said maybe its gone cause the error message had not come back, I said I doubt if it just went away, she ran the avg and it said it was clean however she did not no it was out of date it was still the 6.0 and the new 7.0 was out.

I went there on the 15th and did the adware it had just a tracking file I deleted
Did the spybot and click the immunize and it had like 56 items to immunize so I did it and ran spybot and it found nothing, checked spyblaster and it was alright. Deleted her temp files, cookies, and history, Put the AVG 7.0 on for her then I decided to run Trojan hunter (the trial program) to see if it would find that Trojan, it downloaded it and updated it and ran it. It caught 11 Trojans and I deleted them all they were like
C:\Doucuments and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\temp.frDF60\bin\4.5.0.0 there was like 6 of those and then some that were the same except had 4.5.1.0 at the end
There was one that was WeatherOnTray.exe
And one was C:\WINDOWS\system32\bfc42501.exe and Hbsrv.exe.tcf But I have no idea if we got the one that she was seeing .

Now she just called and she said her computer is back to not coming on, showing the message on the monitor power saving mode and then goes black and the computer is making the on and off sounds again.SO I am going there tomorrow morning and I will unhook the CD-ROM again and floppy and rehook them up and hopefully that will get it on again, however my problem is what should I look for this time? It was clean on the 15th except for that Trojan she had seen but never did anything about. Where should I start? The only thing I can think of is she uses what’s called incredia mail(wrong spelling) for her e-mail, could she have got something that fast from there? She would have gone for awhile without the 7.0 AVG before I got it on. I am looking for suggestions, maybe where to start, what to look for etc?? Last time there were all kinds of idea’s on the starting and stopping but like I said I got that going, and it was not the power supply cause I had unhooked hers and put another one in and it did the same thing, I guess I would like to no what could make it so bad within a couple of days to start that again when it had been ok since the 10/7/04 date. Any ideas would help me tomorrow. Thanks

Try only disconnecting one item! Like the CD-ROM and see what happens.

If you get it to boot, you should run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

Then after doing ALL make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT
