Windows XP Home Edition

I have another problem with my windows xp Home edition. The first problem is my WMP Keeps chattering and repeating words. The next problem that has been occuring is: I keep all my audio files on an external drive in files by the speakers name then title of the recording. I notice odd named files i.e., Janis Eagles the there is a sub file folder, then in that folder the recording. For the few days I deleted the files and copied the recording to the correct file folder on the external drive. When I come back the next day, the files are back on the HD even though I deleted them. Any ideas as to what is wrong or how I can correct this???? Is it an internal windows problem?

If you are absolutely sure you deleted them and emptied the trash then, I smell malware

I haven't used WMP in years but I remember deleting things in the "Library" was different than actually deleting the files from disk. When you are moving files are you doing it in Windows itself or in WMP?

 

I go into my computer, the external drive and cut the recording out of the file, paste it in the named folder for the talk, then delete everything in the original(wierd named file). I don't work with the files in WMP. Thank yo for your response.

I just wanted to check before you went through the whole malware process. Sorry, I don't have any more ideas, I just don't use WMP very often or externals for that matter. Good luck getting things straightened out.
