Windows XP home, PC Angel

I ran a program called PC angel on my pc to restore all of the windows files to default. The program ran fine and prompted me to restart my PC, so i did, my PC booted fine until the user logon screen. I am able to clikc my name, and type in my pass. Windows start loading my setting and then asks for me to validate it. I click ok and thats where it goes wrong.All i get is my background and my cursor, Please i need help quick, thanks in advane to anyone that can help!!!

Unless you had use this program to create a custom rescue/recovery set, it's not used to restore your system to the Windows default. That's what a clean install using the factory CD set is for. Try replacing the Explorer.exe with a clean one from the I386 folder on the hard drive.

Boot to Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Log in as administrator and enter your password (may be blank).

If the displayed prompt is not C:\> the type CD .. press the enter key. Do this as many times as necessary until your command prompt is C:\>

At the command prompt type the following:

rename C:\Windows\explorer.exe explorer.bad press enter (If the file is nolonger there goto the next command)

expand C:\I386\EXPLORER.EX_ C:\Windows press enter (This is assuming you have an I386 folder on your computer)
