Windows XP Home Product Key???

    HELP!!!

    I deleted Windows 98 from my machine & then installed Windows XP Home through dos, only to find my product key does not work. I have tried numerous keys from the internet, but none of these work either. I read somewhere that each individual copy of XP has it's own unique key! Is there anyway to get it from the CD or from the harddrive, bearing in mind I now only have access to DOS & don't have net access at home! :-(

    IF your copy of XP is legal and the key supplied doesnt work then you need to call Microsoft up, IF as you quoted above you are trying various keys off the internet then you will get NO help from this forum, SORRY.

    It is legitimate, but was installed on my previous PC, think It's something to do with hardware change, the only reason I wanted to use XP was because I have puchased an MP3 Player & it wont work even though my machine meets all the requirements, windows 98 crashes when trying to access the mass storage system & I have upgraded my USB to 2.0 it says msgrv32 not responding in task manager, if any 1 knows how I can get round this on Win 98 Please let me know.

    Call needed to MS to resolve the serial key issue for XP is needed, you will find USB hardware functions better in XP than Win98 so make that call.

    There is a program called keyfinder if you run it it will display the product key number. Sorry I don't remember the link.

    He can't boot. hence, a program won't work, especially since no working key has ever been entered.
