Ok so im trying to install XP on my HP a1253W and at the blue screen where it says in the bottom left hand corner "windows is prepareing set up" after it loads all the stuff it locks up. I tryed this with XP Home, Pro and the Media Center it came with. Vista Home Prem. installed just fine and i tryed windows 2000 and that also installed fine so it seems its just haveing a problem with XP.

Anyone know what this could be?

The disk your installing from is it an oem disk?
Or a restore disk that you made?
Because if it's a oem disk it might be defective or or it could be scratched and you optical drive may have problems reading it.
