Idiot attack. Ok, I have a floppy drive, but its not something I want to put in my new system I built. I hate them and have almost no use for them nowadays. The problem I'm having is trying to install Windows XP without the floppy. Everything works fine up until I go to install the third-party scsi/raid driver (I have a SATA drive). I don't have a floppy in the system. And Windows XP was unfortunately written with an archiac method for installing third-party drivers during installation, and will only try to read from the A: drive, and not a secondary CDROM drive.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I'm with Exeter on this.... floppy is the only way I guess to install 3rd party drivers.

They are correct, but, you can also do an unattended install to load the drivers (using an answer file basically)

There are various articles out there on how to do it.

    Hello, ADRYNALYNE
Can you tell me about unattended install / answerfile, or provide link to some info.
Maybe this could help me with my SATA HDD problem, topic in hardware section

    Thank You !
