Windows XP install through a network

    how would you go about installing windows xp onto a computer via a LAN?

    Well assuming the hard drive has no data, you could use one of these to boot up and establish your net connection, then map to the \\computer\drive with the installation CD (or files), run i386\winnt.exe and away you go.

    Is that what you meant?

    You would need a RIS server to do a network install of Windows XP.

    I believe you would need a DHCP server too (its been a while since I've done this).

    Keep in mind multiple servers does not have to mean multiple machines.
