    Hi everyone:

I have in my Windows Task Manager (Processes TAB) A process called searchindexer.exe running.

I was wondering if anyone knows how can I disable this process. It is running all the time I kill it. But after a while starts running again.

    Please I need your help

    Hi

Searchindexer.exe is fine its the inbuilt desktop search that XP and Vista have or part of Windows Search 4.0 (if you also have Google Desktop Search installed then these two running together cause issues in speed), if you wish to disable then brandypeppys link to BlackVipers list is good for this and just in services.msc find Windows Search or WSearch service and Stop and set the Startup Type to Disabled.

If its using alot of CPU and you have iTunes installed then in Control Panel > Indexing Options > Advanced > File Types > Find xml and uncheck it
