I cleaned my computer with Spybot, AVG and CCleaner and removed the spyware. Now it seems that the pages will freeze, then I get the message to end task. I end it, then I get the message about sending the error off to MS or not. It's happening quite a bit so I know something is not right. Is this a malware that my programs missed? I am a little baffled right now and I don't want to run any other programs unless I have an idea where this is coming from. Thanks in advance for any help.

Capt' Jack ....you own an island buy another 'puter, matey.

Alright, that was just to hard to resist ....now, go to event viewer and look for errors in system and applications ...post the error codes.

Then do an online scan http://www.activescan.com

OK, I am not a computer geek. I am just a mom...and I liked your humor btw.

I didn't even know about the event viewer, but I found it by doing a search. There are several errors with a red X. Is the error code the number that is listed under "EVENT" There are a lot of 7023.

What do I do at this point? If you don't mind teaching me that is. I am a good learner and I can always buy the island next to mine for helping me!

good link to investigate error codes....your's is refering to a service control manager ...

control panel / admin tools / event viewer .....usually errors will show in system and applications ....check in applications also.

Were you able to run the active scan?

You have some cr*p on there ....do this:
Bitdefender agree to the license and then select Scan. DO NOT CHANGE THE OPTIONS TO SHOW ALL FILES SCANNED. That will make your logs huge and we don't need to see clean files. Once Bitdefender completes the scan:

Click-on the Detected Problems tab. Then select Click here to export the scan report

When the window comes up to save the report, change the Save as type: box to Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt) and then in the File name box enter change to bdscan then click save. This will save a file named bdscan.txt in whatever folder you are currently in when you save the file (take notice of where you are at so you can find it later). This bdcan.txt file will actually contain HTML code that we can easily view later while reviewing your log. All we have to do is rename the file to bdscan.html.

It will take some time .....

You should also have this program to clean out the cr*p on your computer:

    CCleaner:

Run both the cleaner and the issues (make the backup when prompted when running the issues.)

OK Boss. I'll do that now. I have CCleaner already installed. I am disappointed that the virus scans didn't catch the crap(spybot and avg)...Just a question so I will know this...why do I need to back up files if they are crappy?

"box to Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt)"

IS that what I am suppose to type followed by the "Bdscan"????

Yes ....save as a text file ....the ccleaner backup is for issues ( cleaning out the dead reg files ...which is why you need to keep the back up for a while.)

Possibly ....but I will probably direct you to post the results in the malware section ...if you have looked at the read and run first ...then what ever is left will be handled my those guys ...have patience, they do it on volunteer type basis and take things in order, so don't keep bumping (reposting) out of impatience ...it will only throw you back to the end of the line.
Read and run first - Malware section

Oh dear, I don't want to be thrown back to the end of the pack so I better behave then.

So far so good on the computer. I also did a Vundofix and 2 complete scans/cleans with AVG and ASR, plus CrapCleaner...

But I will check in the Malware section now because I want to make sure that I am doing everything properly. I have been known to delete very important files in the past...

    Thanks for your help!

Aye, Cap't ....be sure to read the section on staying malware free ...and if you do exactly as told in the read and run first ....and post the asked for logs ...they can check them and give you a thumbs up (or down, but lets hope not).
