My friends PC suddenly changed the way Windows loads to the desktop... it used to load straight to the desktop after the blue Welcome screen, but suddenly it now shows him as a user, with a password prompt. There's no password so clicking OK brings up the desktop without any problems, but it's an annoyance that came out of nowhere. I've been poking around trying to get rid this.... how do we set it up to load directly to the desktop again?

(I'm pretty sure it's a .NET framework thing....)

Start, Run, "control userpasswords2" should bring up some commands that may allow you to change that. Don't type the quotation marks...

There's a tutourial in the Guides and Frequently asked questions board. And yes it is a .NET framework thing.

Go to control panel - user accounts. Change the way you log in.

    Good luck
