windows xp media blackout and beeps

Hey all, my brand new computer is giving me some problems. It's a windows xp and whenever I play some old games, like warcraft 2 battle network, the game will run fine for a while then shut down my computer. I'm running e-mule in the background, but it might just be a coincidence. The main issue I'm having is the fact that once it shuts down, it won't start back up very easily.
I press the start up buton, and then the moniter (usually on standby) doesn't turn on. The CPU will turn on, but not go through a start up sequence, just beep at me, alternating between long a short beeps. Nothing will show up on the screen, and nothing I press will get a responce. The computer will start up eventually, but I can find no pattern to it. Please help!

 

Do you know what BIOS you have?

If so, please post it.

If not, you can usually find out by accessing BIOS... it's typically printed somewhere there. Once you find out the make and revision (ex. Phoenix v X.xx.xx), we can check the manufacturer's website to find out what the beep code means!

 

It's BIOS is LTD 6.00 PG. 7/4/2006 I tried to find the site on google, but it didn't show me any that looked like the home page. I really appreciate any help I can get, because I'm still new to most of this! Thank you all!

 

Hmmmm... I can't find anything with this info, either.... do you perhaps know the make/model of your motherboard? We can usually find the BIOS manufacturer that way...

A system info utility like EVEREST should tell you if you don't already know.
