Windows XP MSN Premium & ActiveX

Hi I'm new this this forum and not very technically savy. Basically I try to read and follow instructions the best as I can. My MSN Premium was showing a blank "settings" page as well as a blank "Account Info" page. Additionally, sites that needed to run ActiveX scripts won't function fully even though all my security, privacy and firewall settings are correct. I can't get the TV listings on the TV Guide site, can't rate movies on Blockbuster.com, can only use G Mail in HTML format, can't add codes to the Pepsi Stuff site, etc. My ISP, Verizon tried everything and finally uninstalled my Premium package but my PC won't let it be reinstalled giving a MSN error of 235. Verizon says this is a PC problem and my Windows XP needs removed and reinstalled. I'd like to avoid this if at all possible. If found an online fix for this: enter regsvr32 msxml3.dll but I get an error message for that, too: DllRegisterServer in mskml3.dll failed, return code was 0x80004005.

Additionally, I tried to upgrade my Windows Media Player and received an erroe code of C00D2AFB. Any suggestions for any of this?

 

Yes I did enter the line without the quotes and that's the error or failure code I got. As for logging on as the adminstrator embarrassingly enough I would have no idea how to do that and if I originally had a username and password to do so I long forgot it? Any suggestions?
