My son basically crashed his laptop (Toshiba)(he can not get past the blue screen) He has tried to roll back to the day he bought the computer but that didn't work. It has/had vista as its operating system. I am not familiar with vista and he says he has no disk to use. I have my XP disk can I load it onto his computer?
Thanks in advance for any help

You are probably better off attempting to get the recovery working. If you install XP off your disc you won't have a license key for his computer and there will likely be driver issues (sound, touchpad etc.) since a laptop built for Vista may not have XP drivers available.

What model Toshiba and how did he go about attempting recovery? From CD/DVD or the recovery partition? What type of errors did he get during the recovery process.
