Windows XP Password forgotten and Safe Mode on loop

Hi
I need help please.
I'm helping an elderly gentleman with his Windows XP desktop, he's forgotten the password and we're unable to get into safe mode ( it loads files then restarts) - don't really want to wipe it - can anyone help?

I have been a member of Major Geeks in the past but have forgotten my original password duh! so re-registered, which is why I have no history of posts...

 

Most forums will not provide password help due to the problem of proving ownership of the PC, but you could try this site: http://www.nirsoft.net/password_recovery_tools.html

None of the utilities Ewen linked you to will recover the Administrative password for Windows XP itself. Go to this site and try Ophcrack.
