windows xp pro corp 2002 SP2 problem

hi all do not know if you can help me but i will try to explain as best i can.

I have 2 computer both running windows XP corp 2002 and i have a genuine OEM key.

Now I had to get a old copy of the xp pro corp (non OEM) when i had my computers motherboards die after a power outing, then I installed the (non OEM copy with a old generated key, then i got a key changer to install my OEM CD key, too the windows xp pro corp (non OEM) copy as the system come with the OEM corp copy but no windows disk only a recovery disk for them systems. installed the sp2 cd and then went online reregested my cd key to the new system all ok... have not had to wipe the HDD for about 1 and a half years since doing this and i have alot of data on there as i use to run my bussniess on these computers.

Now my modem went on the blink and then i tryed the modem in the other system, but no drivers so i took my HDD out of main computer and put it in the other computer as the slave drive, so the other HDD could find the drivers i needed. also i thought i would have no problems as the computers had the same motherboard, cpus and ram so i thought nothing of it... any way i forgot to put the jumper on the seagate, as jumper off means master without slave, and the other hdd i had cable select jumper on... so it booted my main hdd up from the 1st system instead of the the hdd allready in there. rolleyes so when windows started up it said many hardware settings have changed and asked me if i would like to reregester my genuine copy again. I ticked the no button and shut down the computer took the hdd out and put it back in the main system to see what it had done.
Well it come up with the telephone option or change key i went to changed key and typed my key in and did not accept then i reslized that i had a OEM key and this is not a OEM copy of installed on there. So i put the hdd in the other computer again this time as the slave drive.
Tryed to take the data out of my file in doc&settings folder to back it all up. When i tryed to open the file it sayed access denided!! me being the way i am when i had the hdd in the other computer i had that user file locked up tight so no one could steal my data even if they took the hdd they would not know how to get the data out with out being a full on hacker or know alot of backdoors around this.

Now i need to know if any one knows away around this file locked up or if any way around the genuine regester system as i realy need this computer going asap.

I have not rung up M$ as they will want me to buy another key and if i am going to buy xp again it will be x64 version but this still dose not get my data out of the hdd by buying a new copy of windows

Thanks for your reply on that Matacumbie i played around and found that i had Administrators rights on that folder.

I thought before i change any thing i might try some more different way of trying to get around it easyer with out stuffing up the folder for good.

I put the hdd in the org computer again this time i started in safe mode, all went well, log in screen come up and loged into the account in safe mode with out having to go throw all the genuine actvation crap for sp2 patch.
Once I was inside the OS I took all my data and favorites out and backed them up on another spare HDD.
Now I will just format the hdd and reinstall windows, doing it all from scratch again. In some ways its good that this has happened as i have learnt alot about the sp2 pack and a few ways around it but updateing all the patchers is going to be the biggest pain as i am on dial up because we live to far out of adsl reach so i think about 2 weeks and i will have it back to were it is today.
