Windows xp pro password help

Working on a laptop in class, we did just an upgrade from windows 2000 to XP PRO, when we did this now it has the "customers" name and now needs a password, tried just enter and typing admin nothing worked, put a password recovery disc in and it went through until it says to type in path to registry directory, any help on just erasing the password or getting around it or path to the registry directory would help tremendously THANKS, JOE

 

Perhaps this will help, http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html. After burning the ISO and using it, it will show the correct path to the password registry files and the file location within windows. Please use carefully, and I accept no responsibility for the outcome! Hope this helps!
