I have windows XP on dell inspirion 9300.

the problem is that it sometimes does not remember my settings and the screen keeps changing resolution. Evrytime is starts it says something about SQL server being corrupt and the some DLL are missing.

If i try to add a printer on the netwrok it says dll: replres.rll module could not be found?

also when it starts the microsoft spyware keeps asking about yahoo toolbar. this was recently installed by BT when i signed up for their broadband but i uninstalled it.

any help would be appreciated. can i repair the OS without losing installations and files?

    thanks

See if this works for you. Put your XP disk in, then go to start, run and type in sfc/scannow. That should replace missing files. Hope that helps.
