I downloaded mine three months ago and it was a 180 day trial. There must be something happening around March. Still, there's not much SW written for x64 out thereso I just run my Venice with XP x32.

I've been recommending this to people who want to try 64 bit XP.

This is a better way to go rather than sending in your 32 bit licence for 64 bit.

At least this way you can go back. If you swap, too bad, you've given up your 32 bit licence and won't get it back.

Excellent point, it's way too early to give up your x32 SW though it will probably cost when MS et al get their act together. The trial has given me all that I need to know for now, and that is it's not ready for primetime yet IMO, though some brave ones will go all out.

As there is no real advantage in 64 bit, until programs are specifically coded for it, and as hardware drivers are virtually non-existant, I really don't see the point or need for it yet.

It may very well be the way of the future, but not now.
