    hi,

i have a desktop where the harddisk just broke, meaning that after reinstalling a new one id need to reload windows.

The desktop has a windows sticker on it which says "windows xp profesiional 1-2 CPU IBM" what service pack or disc would i need to install windows on my new harddrive?

    cheers

I would just use the service pack that the install disk contains, then update to the latest SP3. After that there are about 100 more updates to get you current.

You would need a Windows XP Professional OEM disc with the product key on your COA sticker. Any service pack will work but obviously the closer to the current service pack the less time spent updating.
