Windows XP Profile Corruption

So, my computer (A Vostro running Windows XP) randomly restarted with a message saying something like "Process(I can't remember which process) has ended. Your computer will restart in 60 seconds." So I restarted it manually, and when I tried to log in, my profile appeared to be corrupted. I saw a message that state it was either corrupted or I lacked access rights. It then bounced me to what I think is a temporary profile (what I'm on now) with the same name as my old profile that is saying it's corrupted.

I can access my documents through the hard drive, but what I really need are the profile options. The programs that were specific to that profile, and my settings in Firefox/Thunderbird/Pidgin/Etc. This makes me very sad.

I saw a fix at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151, so I did what it said, created a new profile, and copied all of the folders it told me to, excluding the files it listed, and the My Documents folder, which is huge on my computer, so I can't really duplicate it.

Any ideas on how I can restore my profile?
