Have recently purchased new computers for school on XP Professional. Saved all licenced programs on network server and got set up fine to download them as network administrator. Programs downloaded fine but they only appear in the start menu of the network administrator not in any of the users. Programs properly loaded in Program Files and can be added individually for each user but am sure there must be some way that Administrator can give permission for programs for users. Can you help?

Added complicaton is that we run Winsuite program which mask windows desktop for the pupils. They have easy access to programs through this so it is just the teachers who have full access to the desktop that will complain. Didn't have this problem when I set up wireless laptops on xp but didn't load programs from the network. First post didn't go through so sorry if it's gone twice, I'm new to this.

Yeah, Active Directory security could be the cause but WinSuite could be the problem too, I am not familiar with it so I am assuming you made sure that WinSuite was not the culprit.
What happens if you copy the shortcuts to those specific programs that are to be accessible by everyone to \\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs path?

One other thing that comes to my mind is Global Policy Editor:
    Start > Run > pgedit.msc

Thanks for advice. Will try again when I get into school tomorrow. Did the copying of the settings thing. All the users in the C drive have the correct start menu programs, it's just those users logging on to the domain that don't. Once they have logged on they appear individually as a user and I can copy the start menu setting across, but with 22 new computers and 30 members of staff it will take ages. Checked that the staff groups appeared as users and tried fiddling with the permission but with no luck. I was hoping to get one computer working correctly and ghost the settings so I think I will first trying loading everything on to another computer without winsuite to see if that is the problem. It's driving me insane because the local authority help desk, who promote winsuite, can't seem to help!!!!!!

Hurrah. All sorted. Quite time consuming. First have to load Domain Admins into permissions in My Computer/manage. Then copy start menu programs from Administrator to Default users. It seems to work ok. :)
