    Hi all,
just about to wipe and reload windows xp, will the rpoduct key on the side of the computer box activate windows xp or do i need a product key for the disk as well. Also as for drivers does the Tiny software library have all the drivers needed for graphics card e.t.c. or does windows do this?
    Thanks

This is the Certificate of Authenticity with the product key you need for reactivation. http://www.microsoft.com/china/coem/images/coem1-02-2.gifhttp://www.microsoft.com/romania/antipiraterie/_images/newcoaXP.gif
The Home edition sticker is quite similiar. It is the only one you need as the CD itself needs no key. The activation process is handled on Microsoft's end. You can activate online in most cases, sometimes you may need to call Microsoft to complete the activation, which has never taken me more than five minutes.

I would go to the graphics, sound card and motherboard manufaturers webistes for the latest drivers.

Windows will load the vast majority of the drivers on install, but some like Motherboard/Chipset will need installing once XP had loaded, others like GFX Card will need updating as XPs default driver is for loss of words POOP!

so what I would advise is check what hardware items you have installed and make sure you download and burn to CD/USB pen all the updated drivers.

    eg.
Chipset/motherboard drivers should be on your driver disk, if not tell us which CPU and motherboard you have and we will advise the correct driver.

GFX Card.. dependent on make of card get the latest driver.. be that nVidia or ATI etc

we do on Majorgeeks have a nice library of current popular drivers http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads35.html

I would also if dependent on the XP cds version ( RTM, SP1, SP2 ) get any service packs you may need to install.. if your version of XP is only the original pre SP1 or SP1 then download SP2 from HERE ( yes you can also get this SP2 off some magazines or order it from Microsoft free of charge but means waiting to re-install until you have the CD )

then make sure you also have the installer files for your security programs to hand too, as best practice on installing an OS is to not be connected to the internet until you have at least installed the Service Pack and your security programs eg. AntiVirus, Firewall, AntiSpyware etc

nVidia drivers current version and do cover the GF2 mx400
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/NVIDIA_Forceware_32_Bit_2K-XP_d3294.html

    Intel Chipset install program
    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...All&OSFullName=All Operating Systems&lang=eng

linked to this as it covers most of the older target chipsets, opposed to the newer chipsets.... I would check your Tiny driver cd for Intel Chipset software drivers as they would be perfect but most likely the same as I have linked too.

Do remember once XP is installed install the Chipset software driver first before any others.
