:( Hi, yesterday my computer started to act weird after i added 512MB of ram. The ram is being counted ok and everything seems to work ok. the problem is now when I go to shut down or restart a dialogue box appears that says TrayIconHandler and shows a progress bar as it is ending. Also but not everytime a message popped up saying dwwin.exe dll initialization failed. It just started doing this and was not doing this before and also a program that I got here at MG call CSS Fire is hanging on loadup which it didn't do before. I ran all the scans plus hijackthis and the computer is clean. can anyone tell me why this trayiconhandler message s popping up at shutdown now when it wasn't doing it before. should I put my XP disk in and do a repair? system restore didn't help. This is becoming annoying and has me stumped. thanks

Hi, this problem may be related to a mouse issue but I don't know. I went to device manager and under mice and pointing devices it is listing two devices. A ps/2 compatible mouse which is what I have which is a logitech cordless trackball but I don't recognize the other device which is listed as a HID compliant mouse and it has a yellow exclamation point next to it indicating a problem. I only have the one trackball. I have been trying to uninstall the HID mouse it but keep getting " the program is not responding" message and I can't seem to get rid of it. can anyone advise me as to how to remove it from the device manager? It just does not want to go and I can't figure out another way to remove it. thanks for any help.:(

Hi, ok this is definitely a problem with Logitech Setpoint 4.40. After I uninstalled it I was able to uninstall the HID compliant mouse and just had my ps/2 listed. I reinstalled setpoint 4.40 and the HID compliant mouse came back but this time I was able to uninstall it and thought it was gone for good and not causing a conflict. I rebooted and it was back. this time I just disabled it and rebooted and it is staying disabled. The trayiconhandler and the dwwin.exe mesages are gone at least. I'm not certain I like setpoint 4.40 and may just put the original software for the trackball back on. I have no mice plugged into a USB port so I 'm a little confused as to where the HID mouse is coming from.Looks like I've sorted it out though.:)

HID stands for Human Interface device and has to do with touchpads. maybe it is part of setpoint.
dwwin is Dr Watson, a troubleshooting part of windows. If it fails to initialize, you might have it turned off. I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm not sure if setpoint adds an icon; that might have something to do with the tray icon handler.
