    I recently bought a full version from the company that built the pc.

    I am curious as to why with Two gigs of ram. Why does windows complain if I disable the swap file ?

    Here is basically all the system does ;

    TV Capture card, Plays music when I want to listen to it. Create
    home brew dvd's, Use the browser on the internet. e-mail, view pictures
    and maybe play Spider Solitaire once in awahile. Yahoo and MSN messengers and firewall.

    P4/Intel 3.4g, boot drive has 20 gigs free. Two gigs ddr400 ram, ATI all in wonder radeon 9600. Cdrw-24x older plextor, lite-on dvd burner. Creative audigy 2. Network pci card.

    I have also seen that XP seems to want a larger swap file so to speak for two gigs of ram versus when I only had 512megs.

    For 512 is once said 768 I think. When I went to 2giges then it wanted over 3 gigs for swap... odd since I only bought paired ram from the company that built this pc.

    You still need a page file. XP tries to 1.5 times the installed physical ram.

    Part of the memory management. Do not disable your paging file, it will still page, whether you do, or do not. You can specify the paging file size, however.
