Windows Xp Theme

    Alright I ran this cleaning program in safemode and I think it deleted my themes, the registry is alright cause i restored it but the themes were deleted i think so I'm stuck in classic. I also dont have my xp disc, i could get it but that would take a week or so.... anyway, anyway i could repair the windows xp theme? or is theyre a chance theyres something else wrong?

    You can probably download the themes on www.microsoft.com
    Im not sure.

    They want you to buy there software I've been there done that :) So being a computer newbie, and definite nongeek LOL, I have the lovely (not) screen and wallpaper that came installed on wonderful XP, oh for the days of my Windows 98 ;)

    The only chance I can think of would be if you repaired your windows xp from the windows xp disk. So just be patient I guess.

    Theres a ton of wallpapers that come with XP, have you checked them? Right click on your desktop, choose properties, then the desktop tab, there must be at least 30 of them there, or were you thinking something else?

    With my 98 i downloaded tons of Theme packages with all kinds of stuff like music, screensavers that were animated, wallpapers with matching icons and stuff. With XP nothing works except the stuff they give ya :eek:

    How would I repair it with the disc? Just a reinstall or what?

    there is an option on the disk to repair windows xp. it looks for corrupt or missing system files and other files nessecary for windows programs and then repairs them. quite a neat feature.

    Boot from the CD, choose repair, it should leave everything intact, but replace missing files. As Neo said, this should be a good fix.
